Guilmant succeeded Widor as organ teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris, and one of his students was Marcel Dupré. His standing among organists is unquestionable. As a composer, he wrote and arranged almost exclusively for his own instrument, and made frequent use of regional Christmas songs, carols, and noëls. Melicharek has taken one such carol and arranged it for flute choir. Shepherds of the Mountains will bring this beautiful but little known Christmas melody to your holiday program.
