Theobald Boehm #JA - Wood flute
Th. Boehm Wooden Flute #JA
- No serial number
- Cocus Wood Headjoint and Body
- Silver keys
- C Footjoint
- Open G# key
A Note from Phil Unger (Flute Center's Founder)
This is an extremely rare flute. According to Robert Leibl (Boehm historian), these flutes engraved TH. Boehm, Munich on the end of the head joint screw were made by Louis Lot and the key work finished in Munich by Mr. Boehm. Only a few are known to exist in the world. This one had a crack in the head joint successfully repaired with a banding technique (not through the embouchure) and it was recently overhauled by David Chu in Boston. It is a marvelous player.
